The 3-month renunciation period runs from when you "knew inheritance commenced" (Art. 915(1)), not from death. Per Supreme Court (1984), if you reasonably believed there were no assets/debts, the period starts when you learned of the debts. File renunciation at family court with an explanation letter detailing circumstances. Preserve evidence of when you discovered the debts (creditor notices, etc.).
