Small Claims Action
Small claims action (shougaku-soshou) is a special summary court procedure for monetary claims up to 600,000 yen, decided in a single hearing (Code of Civil Procedure Art. 368). Limited to 10 uses per year at the same court. No appeal is allowed; only objection leading to regular litigation. Installment payment orders are also possible.
